Lesson Information

I teach young people from age 5 to 18. Some children are ready to start as young as 5; some may benefit from starting a little later. I always offer one trial lesson free of charge. Beginners are always welcome and equally, if your child already has experience on the piano, I am happy to take pupils on who have had prior tuition.

Lesson Format

Lessons take place on a weekly basis in term-time. I am able to offer ad-hoc lessons during holidays on request. Lessons are 30 minutes in duration. Students who are working towards higher level exams may benefit from 45 minute or 1 hour lessons.

A weekly slot on the same day and time is provided, and prior to you committing to lessons you will be provided with full terms and conditions.

Graded exams

Whilst I believe there are strong benefits to working towards grade exams when learning to play an instrument, these are entirely optional and up to the individual student and parent.

There are lots of options out there for grade exams now, and I regularly enter students for both face to face and digital exams depending on their own preference, with exam boards including ABRSM, Trinity, RockSchool & Trinity Rock & Pop. Exam fees are an additional cost to lessons.

Fees

  • 30 minute lesson = £17
  • 60 minute lesson = £34
  • Lessons fees are paid on a half termly basis at the start of each block of lessons.

Teaching Facilities

I teach from home where I have a Yamaha C3 grand piano and a Roland electric piano. One parent is welcome to sit in on lessons if they would like to. My teaching space has its own entrance and there is plenty of parking nearby.
